Westone is a leader in custom earplugs, ear pieces and other products that protect and enhance hearing.

Website Design and Build: Mango built a robust custom website and content management system and commerce system that links to their internal CRM and ordering system. Each night a CRON script pulls data from a staging server and imports it into the website, updating product availability, customer information, customer discount percentages and more.

Internet Marketing Study: We started by interviewing sales staff to get an idea of the types of keywords that their customers used to describe their main products. Then by utilizing a series of online tools, we were able to determine actual and additional search phrases for how the public was searching for these products. After we developed a full set of key phrases, we were then able to determine the competitive nature of each of the key phrases in relation to the amount of search activity that each of the terms was getting.

Issue: What we uncovered was, the majority of key phrases that had the highest competition (other websites targeting these exact key phrase) actually had the lowest search volume. Meaning, what the manufacturers were calling their products, and what the public was searching for and calling these same products, was in fact, slightly different.

An example in another market would be, Attorneys call them selves Attorneys… However most people search for Lawyers.

Results: Westone now has thousands of first page listings for highly targeted products and terms.
